I’ve gathered up this Swedish book and am registering it with BookCrossing in a vain attempt to provide another book for my very overdue Pirate Sweepstake parcel – spot the desperately tenuous connection! Still putting beaded piratish coloured (black & white) bookmarks together yesterday . . . gulp! At the very least this may be grand for a foreign book trade or it may delight a traveller in need of some familiar language or a student in need of a challenge? I’ve used Google translate [and a ‘wing & a prayer’] to conjure up the following book burble text.
--------------------
Book burble: Stories from Färs consists of several short stories and most played out in the early 1900s in or around Sorgenfri, in small godforsaken corners of the Skåne countryside. Among the protagonists is Klerk, an unpleasant one-eyed slaughterer whose wife accidentally swallowed his glass eye, Lutterlögn, who is close to sneezing himself to death because of peppered snuff and the man who was left alone. The Pirate offers tragicomic and thought-provoking stories about people, the readers, will never forget.
This edition includes the nyutgivingen [flavour? Synopsis?] of all the books the Pirate wrote and published during his lifetime. "Go ahead and read the wonderful stories of the Pirate from the beautiful town of Färs in the corners of Skåne with its magnificent inhabitants. Lite time is promised! "Writes Björn Vinberg in his preface.
The cover illustration is created by Marie Falksten. [Sorry about that sideways photo, if I knew how to rotate it I would.]

OK certainly a bit of an off the wall addition to my parcel but I hope its arrival with you Bookworm-lady proves intriguing? Quite an odd package all in all, well for sure this Swedish book, so I’ve added in some BC labelling supplies as well as 3 beaded bookmarks AND 3 special Jolly Rodger magnetic bookmarks I have great fun making though I have to confess that it held up the posting more, so sorry about that!
Posted from Edinburgh, Scotland on November 1st and surprised it’s not arrived by now – puzzling?

Thank you soo much, rainbow3, for the most amazing pirate-themed parcel... from its wrapping and including its amazing contents!
Not a clue of Swedish, but you are right, I will surely find a home for it. :)
