The Great Gatsby

I never read this in school so I feel I had a better understanding of this book as an adult. It's interesting how 1920's America is still the same in 2018. Fitzgerald illustrates how shallow and careless high society can be by leaving the little people to pick up the pieces. Gatsby's death leaves you to believe the American dream is merely a facade.
I read this for 2017's PopSugar prompt: a book recommended by an author you love. (Jodi Picoult).
