A delightful collection of inter-linked short stories set in Jamaica. From the title, I expected to be outraged by a colonial view point, but the character observations are wittily drawn - the locals and the English visitors.

I caught this book at Trax Cafe in the Wellington Railway Station as part of a meet-up of Wellington Bookcrossers.
It was a terrible night with a threatened tropical storm travelling down the North Island accompanied by fearsome winds and intermittent rain deluges. Was hesitant to travel that night but it has been a while since I last attended a meet-up so braved the storm. The drive in took much longer than expected thanks to a 6 car pile up near Horokiwi so I spent a long time hardly moving and knowing I'd be late. Great company with lots of newsy details to catch up on. I like the sound of this book and will start it this evening.
