I got this good-condition softcover at a local Salvation Army thrift shop. It's... very odd {wry grin}, riffing on the tale of Noah's Ark (from the viewpoint of some woodworms who snuck on board) and tying that into different tales across time, with several themes taken from the epic painting Raft of the Medusa (a fold-out illustration of same is bound into the book). Contrasting the events of the ark (and the raft) with the historical and pop-culture references to them, bringing in the woodworms yet again (!), inserting cameos from other disasters (Lawrence Beesley, noted survivor of the Titanic, turns up at one point)... it's hard to describe and sometimes hard to follow, and yet I enjoyed these linked-but-strange stories/vignettes/essays.
