This is one of my favourite Ian M. Banks books. A great read, and a decent introduction to the Culture universe if it is your first of his books.

Haven’t read any of the Culture for ages. What a pleasure! Will put something else back on Spa Town’s shelf and find another coffee shop to leave it ; perhaps Myrtle‘s in Earlsdon. I’m sure one of the students might pick it up there.
