'High Society' is a story about Britain today, a criminal nation in which everybody is either breaking the law or knows people who do. It takes the reader on a hilarious, heartbreaking and terrifying journey through the kaleidoscope world that the law has created and from which the law offers no protection.

Written in Ben Elton's usual fast-paced manner, this entertaining story is also thought provoking, highlighting how much of our current attitude to, and legislation about, drug use is driven by politics and the need to uphold a public profile, and not by hard evidence or a pragmatic approach to limiting harm to both those who abuse drugs and those who are impacted by the crime that currently exists around drug-taking.
