I bought this book from a flea market and it was a nice surprise to find out that this copy seems to be singed by the author, though I'm not 100% sure.

This novel won the Finlandia Prize in year 2000. It was the first fantasy novel that has won Finlandia and I'm not sure if any other fantasy novel has been awarded with Finlandia Prize after this one. Finlandia Prize is the best known book prize in Finland.

I have read this novel in Finnish but can't remember much about it. I remember that I was thinking that it would be quite difficult to translate this novel since there is so many different writing styles in the book (news articles, old tales ...) but of course it isn't a problem to a professional translator.

I will take this book with me to Iceland. I'll have a little peek to the English translation before releasing this troll story to some place suitable for mythical creatures.

I left the book on a small parking on the way from Reykjahlid to Dimmuborgir (road 848).

I love books and I have never seen this web site before! I found this book in the library of the cruise ship Vision of the Seas. It was sailing from Cape Liberty, NJ to the Caribbean and ending in Galveston, TX. I am taking it
