When the Catteni invade Earth, they take many of their prisoners to the slave-planet, Baveri, along with those of several other races. Kris Bjornsen has escaped, but when she rescues a Catteni who is being pursued by a group of others and takes him back to the city before the crucial 24 hours are up, she is recaptured and they are both sent with a group of others to a strange and dangerous new planet, where there are not only terrifying creatures but farming machines. Original and fun sci-fi.
