I bought this book at a charity shop in my hometown of Cambridge, Ontario. It seems a lot like the Amazing Stories series, which I have found to be quick, interesting reads that are pretty good for bookcrossing. I mostly bought this book because of the section on William Stephenson, but I'm also eager to read the parts about Camp X and JTF2. I will probably read this quickly/soon and send it on its way.

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I am registering this book as part of my Canada 150 project.

I read this book yesterday, it was a quick read for me. I did enjoy reading about Sir William Stephenson and JTF2 as expected, but I found the other stories interesting too-- especially the one about Igor Gouzenko.

I was a little excited when one of the stories was set in Aylmer, ON as my husband grew up near there... but from the context (mainly the fact that the rest of the story takes place in Ottawa), I suspect they may have meant Aylmer, QC (just across the river from Ottawa, rather than several hours' drive away).

Anyway... I'm not sure when/where I will release this book yet, but I have a couple of ideas. I'll set its status to "Reserved" for now and we'll see what happens!

Released 6 yrs ago (12/18/2017 UTC) at Tim Horton's/Wendy's/Extreme Pita/Tacoritto (Brock Street & 401) in Whitby, Ontario Canada

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

My husband and I were driving home from a weekend in Quebec, and we stopped in Whitby to leave a book. We've been planning/trying to do it all year, but unfortunately we haven't been in Whitby as often as usual! We drove over to Intrepid Park (the site of Camp X), but the park and monument were more snowbound than we expected them to be so we changed the plan. We stopped in to the little travel plaza sort of building before getting back on 401, and I left this book with the Snap'd papers (free papers about local happenings) by the entrance.

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of the 2017 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge. I finished my 52 in August but I've kept on going; Whitby is Town #83 for me!
