I bought this book at a charity shop in my neighbouring city of Kitchener, Ontario. I picked it up because it looked like it would be a light summer read, and a fun little slice of Canadiana. I have a lot to read right now so I'm not sure when I will get to this or where I will leave it, but I hope to read it pretty soon and move it along.

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I am registering this book as part of my Canada 150 project.

I finished reading this book this morning. It was alright, though I think the author and I differ somewhat in opinion and, at times, in sense of homour. Having spent some time in Muskoka and having spent a long time involved with a family that had a generations-old Muskoka cottage property, I could relate to somewhat to a lot of the stuff in this book, but I think it was more Muskoka-specific than I had hoped it would be.

I have a plan for releasing this book which involves a very different cottage-- a beach town cottage on Lake Erie-- that has become a summer retreat in my life. My best friend of about 25 years and I started taking her daughter to Crystal Beach for a day every summer when she was very young. A lot has changed since then, and for the last couple of years we and our husbands have rented a particular cottage in town and the 5 of us have spent Labour Day weekend there together. There is a Little Free Library on the same street as the cottage we rent, so I plan to leave this book there sometime over the long weekend.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

The first thing I did when we got to Crystal Beach tonight was go check the LFL on the street, and I left this book in it!

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of the 2017 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge. I've already finished my 52, so this is the first of my extra books-- Crystal Beach is Town #53 for me!

I found this tucked in the corner of a little library in front of a crystal beach church. I'm from buffalo,ny but my family has owned a cottage here in Canada for my entire life. Even though It's the end of the summer season, it's absolutely gorgeous out today. I plan on reading this while sitting on the sunny beach ❤
