A man dreams a terrible fate for his daughter and flees to the Caribbean. It is years before he is able to return to see whether his nightmare cam true.
Anthony Doerr writes beautifully and manages to weave science into his stories in an almost spiritual way.

To be released at York bookcrossing at Brigantes.
Not a fan of this book I'm afraid. The novel's protagonist is a cowardly stalker who wallows in his own self-inflicted misery that he also bestows on those surrounding him. It drags on for over 400 pages during which the author describes everything in sight in every scene. The plot is weak and emotionally incomprehensible - based upon a decision at the start of the novel that makes no sense and from that point on, the novel lost me.
I have given it three stars for some beautiful descriptions about snowflakes and insects but overall, this book was not for me!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Intending to release at this evening's BookCrossing MeetUp in York. I've read some reviews of this book and it seems to be divisive in opinion, much like Marmite, so hopefully the next reader will be more appreciative.
