This was very interesting. It reads as much like a history of the Civil War as a biography. The author documents everything with copious footnotes.
It made me want to read Edmonds autobiography as it's quoted a few times in this.

I received this book from my daughter as she knows I am interested in Civil War history. I liked how the author stated the facts and let us decide what was truth. I could not help but admire Emma for her strong will and determination. I will be looking for her autobiography to read. I am sending this back to my daughter, Elizardbreath.
