Had the most lovely bookcrossing meetup lunch and come home with more than I took......
A world book night version (I wonder if anyone has the full set of these?). I read a Martina Cole book recently and remember it being a very easy read, so one for when I need a break :-)
........
So read this one pretty quickly and have to say it was .....alright. it's an easy, fast moving read, but when you've read some carefully crafted novels it just seems so obvious. Every few chapters something is introduced out of context and you can pretty much guarantee it's going to be a plot line a couple of chapters later (why would you randomly talk about having tried for a baby unsuccessfully for a couple of years if you weren't going to get pregnant from a once off for example). plus Martina likes to have that wrap up family gathering a year or more later in the last chapter to tie up remaining loose ends and show that it's all happy family everyafter. I did enjoy reading it, but as a time filler that was all.
