Journal Entry 1 by JessicaEby from Cambridge, Ontario Canada on Saturday, July 8, 2017
Last month, my local library held its quarterly book sale. I was there one night just as they were about to close and picked up 6 books for just $2! I didn't really have time to look, so I just picked ones that were obviously Canadian, knowing nothing about them other than the fact that they had the little red maple leaf that indicates a Canadian author on their spines. I seriously didn't even know the titles.

One of those books turned out to be The Present Tense of Prinny Murphy. I still don't really know anything about it, so it's sure to be a surprise for me!

Journal Entry 2 by JessicaEby at Cambridge, Ontario Canada on Sunday, July 9, 2017
I started reading this book last evening and finished it up this morning while my husband was sleeping in but I was wide awake!

This story was sad a lot of the time, but it was a worthwhile read, I think. I liked the way it ended, for the most part. Apparently this is the 2nd book of a series that currently has 3 titles in it, about the kids in this little Newfoundland community. I haven't read the others, but I don't think that having missed the first book really mattered; I wouldn't mind having the chance to read it sometime, but I wasn't lost or confused at all without having read it first.

In celebration of Canada's sesquicentennial, I have dedicated my 2017 bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I hope to include this book in my Canada 150 project. My husband and I are hoping to do some travelling later in the year, but sadly I don't think Newfoundland is on our itinerary (I've wanted to go there since I was tiny, and we have been looking at it, but it seems like it might not be a possibility this year). I'm not sure where/when I will leave this book for someone else to find, but I will move it along somehow, at some point.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

My husband and I tried to try out the Goofie Newfie a year or two ago, but the hours were wrong on Google and we arrived too late. We were already in Elora for a hike this afternoon, so we thought we'd take advantage of being in the area and head back to The Goofie Newfie! We quite liked it, and I expect we'll be back some other time! After eating, my husband attempted to teach me to play pool, and I left this book in the corner of the games room (at the back right if entering from the restaurant area, or the back left if coming from the bar side).

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of the 2019 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge! Fergus was Town #24 for me!
