Volume I
"The most extraordinarily intimate autobiography by a twentieth-century legend ever written. Daily Telegraph"
To be honest: It's been waiting for years to be read after I bought it secondhand. Now I found the (hopefully) perfect bookcrossing match during my first International Sweepstake and will send it to other readers :)

I knew almost nothing about Bob Dylan except that he won the literature Nobel prize two years ago. That's why I was very eager to read this book purely out of curiosity. Published in 2004, Chronicles Volume One is written in five chapters referring to different periods of Dylan's life, from the very beginning of his career to the recording of an album in 1989. I particularly liked the part on the difficulty to separate private life from public life and the drawbacks of notoriety. However I was completely at lost with the huge amount of names related to the American music business of the '50s, '60s and even later, hundreds of them that meant absolutely nothing to me. It was like reading a Who is Who’s publication, boring.
