Adventures in a TV Nation

I dunno. Michael Moore considers himself a tough defender of the Little Guy. I got issues. You want the book?
Exchanged today from hand to hand in Montreal. Thanks!
While I agree with most of his critics, i'm not always sure i approve of the means used. Some ideas are bright, others funny, and others a bit too much, in my opinion. For example, i don't think "paying back" is a wonderful way of changing things, and no, i don't think corporations' heads should necessarily know how to make the products their companies sell. On the other hand, i thought the Love Night was a wonderful idea, and one which required a lot of courage. Still, i guess it is easy to critize the ones who are under the big spotlights trying to do something concrete to change things. So i'd say it's still a book worth reading, although i'm not sure yet the whole "TV Nation" adventure was worth the (tremedous) investments.
Mailed today, as a trade, to MrMustard in UK (surface mail)

Arrived as part of a trade from Folia. It will be added to my 'to be read' pile. Looking forward to getting around to reading it.

A sometimes clumsily written collection of stories from the making of the series, 'TV Nation'. There's some fun and interesting stuff in here, and many of the stunts are clever and have amusing, if predictable, outcomes. However, the writers admit to setting out to prove what they have already decided is true, which slightly devalues their arguments on occasion. That said, it was fascinating to read about what Michael Moore was up to before he really hit the big time with 'Bowling for Columbine' (which is an excellent film) and 'Farenheit 9/11' (likewise). Although some of the issues dealt with are a little dated now, many are equally relevant today, and that alone makes this book worth a look.

Sent to skoopmanschap as either a RABCK or a trade, depending on whether he can find the Chomsky book I was interested in! Either way, I'm glad this is off to another Bookcrosser and I hope it's enjoyed.
Thanks for sending this to me, I'm really looking forward to reading this one.
Moore is clearly not the person to be a good author of books, but because of his stories it's all still hilarious. Loved it. I think I'll release this book somewhere soon.
