When I was in high school I worked at Eaton's book department. A couple of times a year we got a shipment of books from who knows where. They immediately went into an advertised "clearance" sale. I hated them. They were the worst books ever. I still remember one of them. It was called "Freaks" and contained black and white blurry photographs of people with various physical deformities . I remember being appalled that anyone would create such a book. Even more appalling to me though was the realization that people would think that if we put the book on clearance we must have carried the book before that. We hadn't but it bothered me that our customers would think so. In fact I convinced our manager to allow me to gather up all the copies and throw them out.

I feel almost as strongly about this book. I really don't know why people love to hate lawyers when it is lawyers who help them through some of the worst times in their lives. I don't find lawyer jokes in the least bit funny and I didn't think this book funny either. While I am not going to throw the book out, I am going to get it out of my house.
