This book was offered in May on the LibraryThing Early Reader program so I asked for it because
(a) getting free books is awesome
(b) Gail Anderson-Dargatz is a great writer and she's Canadian
(c) these Rapid Reads books are great for reading in one sitting.

I'll be sure to read it soon and then pass it along.

I received this book through the LibraryThing Early Reviewer program. It is a Rapid Reads book from Orca Books. I've read quite a few of these books and I love the idea of making short, simple books available for people who have some English literacy challenges. I think this would be a great book for someone new to Canada who is thinking of opening their own small business. Eva (Cookie) has been working in a small bakery cafe for years when she learns that the owner plans to close the business in a short time. Cookie would love to buy the business but she has hardly saved any money since she is the sole support for her daughter and her salary has never allowed for much saving beyond day to day expenses. With the confidence learned from taking a course in business skills and the support of her daughter and others Cookie manages to succeed at business.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I left this book in LFL #8977 which is in front of 59 Sherburn Street. This release is for the 2017 Canada Days release challenge.

When you find a BookCrossing book it is yours to do with what you like. You can read it and keep it or pass it on or if you don't think it is your kind of book pass it on to someone who might like it or release it in a spot for someone else to find like you just did. Whatever you choose it would be great if you could write a short note letting us know what new adventures the book is on.
