"No two persons ever read the same book."--Edmund Wilson

By registering this book, I am sharing this book with the wider world--enjoy!

Once there was a boy named Charlie, who had a nice life—but it wasn’t quite perfect. He had to spend too much of his time doing things he didn’t want to do. So one day he packed up all his time in a suitcase, locked it up, and set off to find a better way to spend it. Charlie traveled the world looking for the perfect thing to make him happy. In the meantime, unbeknownst to him, his itsy-bitsy seconds and silky, smooth hours and raggedy days ticked away, so that when Charlie stopped traveling and realized what he truly wanted out of life, it was almost too late. Almost.

This charming and touching fable evokes a lesson we would all do well to learn: living and loving is time well spent. (from the book flap)

I loved it...the story and the illustrations. It takes 10 minutes to read and a lifetime to consider.

Thank you minesayn for sending the book all the way from Ohio to Greece. It crossed the Pond pretty fast!

This was a very quick read and a nice one too. I think the main message is that life might not be perfect and there might be elements in your life you find annoying, but still life is worthing living at present rather than wasting your time seeking perfection -which might not come- sometime in the future.
Love your friends with their flaws, live your life, be loved.

I think of this book as the perfect gift for a grumpy child or an adult who always tend to complain about minor stuff.

A tale worthy to be read.

A lovely little book with a very poignant ending.I can see why it appeals to all ages, children will like the repetition of one of the phrases & adults will appreciate the sentiment.
It reinforces my belief that life is short & to enjoy it while I can 😊

I've gone back to try JemmaJ, if there is no answer by the 21st, I'll send to Vapermom.

I received this little book in the mail yesterday from Vapermom in Canada. I'm so glad it survived Hurricane Harvey and Tropical Storm Harvey! Not a good time to be in Texas but luckily it didn't get wet. Miraculously we didn't have flooding inside our home, but it was close! We had floodwater 3" from our door just from the torrential rain! Thankfully our levee held otherwise we would have had 6-8 feet of water from the Brazos river in our home. Many others were not so fortunate. :( Please keep the good people of Texas in your prayers! Thank you Minesayn for sharing this book with us. This was a sad but sweet little story. I will send it on it's way to southernfyed as soon as I receive her mailing address.

What a sweet little book! and it is dressed so pretty in it's pink jacket! It also had some Bookcrossing labels inside. Thanks for sharing.
I loved that time was described as "big, bulky decades, then the round, squishy years, the square, mushy months, triangular, shiny weeks and raggedy days, tons of silky, smooth hours and crumpled up minutes...itsy-bitsy seconds."

It has arrived back home, safe and sound with a lovely fabric cover. Plus some BC labels including a few I put in it for others to take. The postcard with all your names, too. Thank you all for participating and I am glad everyone seemed to enjoy this gem. It does indeed have a message to live while you can, and love while you can, and to enjoy...to not forget to smell flowers because those decades, years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds go by all too fast. Glad that everyone is doing well and hope especially those in the path of Harvey, Irma, and Maria will eventually be okay.

Now, what to do with this book. Keep it, send it on...
