Merivel: A Man of His Time
2 journalers for this copy...
Sequel to the wonderful historical novel Restoration. I don't think it quite matches up to that book but still an entertaining read, funny, tragic and moving in turns. Merivel is still a character we can care about and Tremain surprises us again and again with the twists and turns that his life in Charles II's England takes.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Released at old gang meet up.
Picked up at Meet Up as I do like Rose Tremain, Didn't realise it was a sequel though but we'll give it a try anyway
Well written and well researched. I could really picture the times, the fashion, the diseases, the smells. Merivel did annoy me at times with his self pity and despair but the whole story kept me interested
