Newbery Honor Book, which is probably why I picked it up, although I can't figure out where it came from.

About friendship & loss, responsibility, and growing up: luckily for most kids, the crazy reckless things they do don't usually have extreme consequences. This book looks at what happens when a summer adventure for two young boys goes disastrously wrong.
