After a really exhausting day I found this book in my letterbox last night! It looks like a book that has been read a lot, and I am looking forward to it. Thanks a lot for this most lovely RABCK, catsnsnow!

Since I had so many other books due to read, my mother - who had wondered about that book she had read about it in a social-historic context - had a look at it and also extends her thanks to catsnsnow. Now the copy is back at my place and is next in line on Mount TBR.

There is beautiful, indeed!
I looked forward every night to go on with this book. An idyllic coming-to-age novel, poisened with just that small well-balanced dose of social critique necessary to avoid turning it into kitsch.

Am sending to DopeyK17 as a RABCK.**As the copy I received had seen better days (LOL!) and had several loose pages, I retired it to the book cemetary and replaced it with a brand new copy that I came across.
Arrived in the mail today. Thank you so much for the RABCK. My grandmother has long raved to me how good the movie based on this book was, so I'm very much looking forward to reading it.
