Llewellyn's tale of a young man's coming-of-age in a small Welsh mining town--the basis for the beloved film of the same name--is "a beautiful story told in words which have Welsh music in them . . . a book which will live in the mind and memory of its readers" (Atlantic Monthly)

After a really exhausting day I found this book in my letterbox last night! It looks like a book that has been read a lot, and I am looking forward to it. Thanks a lot for this most lovely RABCK, catsnsnow!

Since I had so many other books due to read, my mother - who had wondered about that book she had read about it in a social-historic context - had a look at it and also extends her thanks to catsnsnow. Now the copy is back at my place and is next in line on Mount TBR.

There is beautiful, indeed!

I looked forward every night to go on with this book. An idyllic coming-to-age novel, poisened with just that small well-balanced dose of social critique necessary to avoid turning it into kitsch.

I am sending this to the US to fulfil a wish :) Thanks again, catsnsnow, for letting this book go for others to enjoy!

Am sending to DopeyK17 as a RABCK.

**As the copy I received had seen better days (LOL!) and had several loose pages, I retired it to the book cemetary and replaced it with a brand new copy that I came across.

Arrived in the mail today. Thank you so much for the RABCK. My grandmother has long raved to me how good the movie based on this book was, so I'm very much looking forward to reading it.
