In this dramatic re-telling of an often-misread tale, historian and researcher Nicola Tallis explores a range of evidence that has never before been used in a biography to sweep away the many myths and reveal the moving, human story of an extraordinarily intelligent, independent and courageous young woman.

This is the wording from the back of the book and I'm afraid I disagree. Her "evidence" is usually preceded by 'perhaps', 'maybe', 'it seems clear', 'no longer exists'. 'it is probable' etc and the best 'there is no evidence for this'. After 100 pages of supposition romantically presented as fact, I skipped the next 150 pages to Edward's death and skimmed to the end. The research is incontestable and I did learn something, but the way it is written takes some will to keep to it. Especially in the first half of the book where it feels like an endless list of dates and facts jumping from one thing to another.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I had been hoping to start a bookray for this in Loughborough as she is an unconvention author but no takers as yet. If I have no luck before I get there, I'll leave it on the book buffet.

Not too bad a book, but as the previous reader says, an awful lot of supposition. I knew the bare bones of the story, and this has filled a few of the gaps.
