Its a good James Patterson book. One written by the author without anybody else. Woohoo! Its the usual pattern, with twists and turns. Maggie tells the story. Maggie is in an abusive relationship and has a daughter. She ends up killing her first husband in self defence. She's meek and mild and wants the best for her daughter.

She writes songs and sings and makes it as an international star. Things go well for a while but then she meets Will Shepherd who is a dangerous man but wins her heart. But Maggie doesn't know the man she married. Now she's on trial for the murder of him. But did she do it?

The trial is big news and Maggie is branded a murderer. She just wants to get home to her children. It has a twist at the end which all thrillers generally have and this one was good. I had an indicator of what was going to happen but enjoyed it greatly. A Patterson that I really enjoyed.
