Got this book from the annual big book sale at the Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio. I am placing it on Mount TBR.
A Cute book about a Giant who was lonely. But this is really not a stellar read for the kids. Because he was lonely he went out and invited his Giant friends to come over and they said they would. Then he invited his small friends, the animals to come over and they said they would. The conflict came when they showed up all at once. They ate him out of house and home and by the time they all left because their was no more food, he said "goodbye - goodbye. Come again sometime - but please, not all at once! I'll tell you when." Which I thought was kind of rude.
Usually little golden books not only entertain but they also tell a good moral story. Not this one. I felt that this book was written in a hurry as it had a good premise of "Be Careful what you wish for" but then it let it drop.
The kids will love it for the pictures. The print is too small for a young reader to read on their own really. It would be best to have it read by an adult.
