I'm planning a big release of James Joyce novels on June 16, 2004, the one hundredth anniversary of Bloomsday. (Joyce’s masterpiece, Ulysses, recounts the hour-by-hour events of one day in Dublin — June 16, 1904 — as an ordinary Dubliner, Leopold Bloom, wends his way through the city, the odyssey of a modern-day Ulysses. Bloomsday – June 16th - is an annual celebration amongst Joyce fans throughout the world.)

I'll be taking this book to work on Friday for a planned release to jblueafterglow (a swap for Tony Parsons' Man and Boy). This copy is a little beat up, but it has the distinction of actually having been read. It's a wonderful, memorable book -- I really hope you'll enjoy it.

When I finally get to and complete this classic, it will be sent off to Quez45. It's a very busy time right now, so this may not happen for many more months.

After starting it in late April and getting stalled on page 47 since late May, I'm deciding to give up on Ulysses for now. Will be PMing Quez45 to see if they still want me to send it their way after all this time. More Ulysses on my book blog.

The book and I went for a walk yesterday afternoon. After a short time we parted ways. I returned home while the book continued on towards Quez45 in Jersey. The rain dampened my hair but not my spirit.

I was once told that this is the greatest literary ending of all time. Hopefully soon I can judge for myself ...
