Back cover:
King Solomonʼs Mines tells of the search by Sir Henry Curtis, Captain John Good and the narrator, Allan Quatermain, for Sir Henryʼs younger brother George. He has been lost in the interior of Africa for two years in the quest for King Solomonʼs Mines, the legendary source of the biblical kingʼs enormous riches. The three companions encounter fearful hardships, fierce warriors, mortal danger and the sinister and deadly witch Gagool.
In one of the finest adventure stories of its age, Quatermain, with touches of humour and great excitement, tells the tale of their struggle through unmapped Africa in pursuit of unimaginable wealth.

LUKUILOA!!!

Journal Entry 3 by CatharinaL at Pirkkala, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Friday, June 9, 2017
I've been a lazy, lousy bookcrosser these past few months, and it was with joy (and renewed enthusiasm) that I discovered this book at the Pirkkala Main Library today.

While King Shlomo and his riches are a well-known legend, I must admit I wasn't aware of the existence of *this particular* adventure story!

I'm expecting a good ol' adventure, now food for post-colonialist thought. TBR on a rainy day :-)

Journal Entry 4 by CatharinaL at Pirkkala, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Tuesday, June 13, 2017
Nah... this is way too straightforward an adventure story to sustain my interest, even on a very, very rainy day :-) I really have to try hard for any literary significance here for a modern reader.

I'll try to activate myself a bit as a bookcrosser and take this with me to one of the upcoming local meetups to find new readers there.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
