I got this book just for Bookcrossing and will read and or release, I don't know which yet!

I've been a Lee Child fan since reading my first Jack Reacher novel, so you can imagine my disappointment when I began Night School and discovered it wasn't the old ex-Army Reacher. Night School is set in the era before Reacher left the Army. The story itself is okay, good even, but not the independent Reacher we've come to know. To be sure, some of the elements are there such as his impeccable logic, but it just doesn't have the same Reacher feel.

This was a ok read in the series and is now ready to travel onward.

Going back to when Reacher was still in the Army, he has received a medal and then they sent him back to school. Now he's off the grid. Two other men are in the classroom, an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each of them are first rate operators and each is off a big win just like Reacher. Then they find out their assignment..............there's a Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany and it has received a visitor, a Saudi courier. They have overheard a message "The American wants a hundred million dollars". These three classmates need to find out what the American has for sale and to stop the sale and capture the American. A good read!!

Going back to Reacher's Army days, this story is about the time after receiving a medal for exceptional service, Reacher and two others are assigned to night school. A special job to find what is going on in Germany, with a safe house, couriers, and an American with something to sell and foreigners wanting to buy. This story was not up to Child's high standards for Reacher, but it was still an okay read.

My husband really enjoyed this book. He said it would make a good movie with Tom Cruise.
