Romana heeft inmiddels al heel wat ervaring met paarden. Toch krijgt ze het aardig op haar zenuwen als zij in haar eentje op stoeterijk Duinoord is en een van de fokmerries plotseling heel onrustig wordt. Zou het veulen nu al komen? Buiten is het vreselijk noodweer en Romana kan niemand bereiken, dus ze is helemaal op zichzelf aangewezen. Ten einde raad besluit Romana om Ragebol op te zadelen. Dan moet ze de storm maar trotseren om hulp te halen...
