Picked up to read and release.
The impenetrable haze of Tôya's amnesia has always kept his past shrouded in mystery...until now, as his elusive memories begin to return. There was the island...the girl with the seashell...the name "Mikage." Tôya and the others go into full rescue mode in response to Aki's latest threats, facing gunfire, torture, and even death...but Aya faces life -- new life. The hideous details of Kagami's "C-Project" make what was already an awful situation all but unbearable. How can anyone expect Aya to go on without her love, her life, her other self? Oh, Tôya....

This is going out in my manga and graphic novel book box.
I was surprised and pleased to find all 14 volumes of this series in the manga/graphic novel bookbox! I'd read Vol. 1, but not the rest, so I'm taking them all!
Later: So. Many. Revelations. Oh, boy! I have to admit that when one character muses "If only there hadn't been so much confusion and suffering..." I laughed out loud; the entire series seems to be based on confusion and suffering, poor foolish character... Kagami's talk near the end about clinical reproduction vs. the messy emotional kind actually had some valid points, but of course what he's been doing is pretty damned appalling.
[There's a TV Tropes page for the series, with comments on the manga and on the anime.]

I'm sending this 14-volume set to BCer azuki in Florida. Enjoy!
I am a fan of Yuu Watase since I started reading manga in high school. Ceres is a series I've read about but never get to read, until I found vol 1 in the manga bookbox.
Turns out I am not the only one hooked on this series. GoryDetail was too, from the same copy. And she has generously shared with me this completed series she found in the latest round of manga box. Words can't quite express my surprise and gratefulness to this generous RABCK.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Gosh, I cried so much in this volume. I know Watase has been killing off her characters left and right, but I didn't expect these characters too... Death mingled with birth. But at least now we know Toya's identity.
