I found this handsome hardcover, with illustrations by Barry Moser, at a local Savers thrift shop.
"Call of the Wild" is a classic tale about a family dog who's shanghaied into service as a sled dog in the Arctic and is torn between loyalty to his master and the call of his own wild blood. It's been filmed a number of times (with a variety of departures from the story), including this 1935 film starring Clark Gable.
