Mojosmom sent me a copy of this last year and I loved it so much I started an international bookray for it. Unfortunately it seems to keep getting stalled and as there are over 30 people in this bookray I despaired of the last few ever getting a chance to read it.
Today - hurray! I found another copy of it in good condition at a Frenchy's thrift store for 50 cents. I'm going to split the list of participants in two and send this on its way.
#72/100 registered for the Convention Challenge.

Here is the list of participants for this copy:
1) caligula03 - California, USA
2) Amberlee17 - California, USA (mailed out late June 2004)
3) LCBane - West Virginia, USA
4) iagal - Iowa, USA
5) tish2002 - Missouri, USA
6) KAT123 - New York, USA
7) First-Noel - Texas, USA

It's a quick book to read, so as soon as you receive it please PM the next person on the list for their address.
Please don't keep it for longer than a month (preferably 2 weeks), as you can see the list is long.
Please journal as soon as you receive it and again to add a comment or two when you release it.

Heading off to California today, the first leg of its journey.

The book arrived safe and sound. My current cat, Caligula, was an SPCA rescue back in 1995. She's been a wonderful addition to the family. I will read the book as soon as I can.

The photography is beautiful and the various ladies clearly love their cats but somehow the prose just didn't grab me like other books of this genre. My favorite picture is on page 114 of the little girl with a paperbag mask and her cat also with a paperbag mask. My son who is also a lover of cats enjoyed looking at all of the pictures.

Mailing to Amberlee

Journal Entry 6 by AmberLee17 from Stockton, California USA on Wednesday, June 23, 2004
Received and read last night. I couldn't resist it. Actually I went through it twice -- once for the owner's comments and once to figure out which cats most looked like my critters.*

* Since I KNOW you are dying to know, Perspicacity Purrsonality "Cassy" doesn't really look like any of the cats a lot, although the cat lying down on pg. 109 has some similarities... Lady Olivia d'Flufferuni "Livvy" looks much like the cats on page 79 and 95 to me.

My favorite write-up? This one delights me:
Liz Brahm: "I think cats came here from outer space. On their old planet, they were the big shots. They had jobs and cars and houses; they had careers and took vacations and complained about taxes. Then, one day, one overworked, underpaid cat said, "Enough! Let's blow this nip stand!" and they got in their kitty spaceships and searched until they found the perfect world: Earth. Here humans welcome them into their homes, feed them, pet them, buy them cat toys, let them sleep all day, and love them for the amazing, mysterious creatures they are. ... I look at Mini and see the possibility of all this in her eyes, and I think, "Who's the pet here?" She'll never tell."

Note: I think Ms. Brahm's Mini looks like Livvy, too, come to think of it.

What a delight. I've added a bookmark from the local humane society fundraiser with some nifty quotes to add to the interest for future readers. Enjoy!

Unfortunately this bookray is "missing in action".
I have tried PMing LCBane but have not received an answer. When the other copy reaches the end of its ray I'll try and arrange for it to continue with this list of participants.
