From the back of the book:
It is Easter Sunday morning when the Hogelmann family find the Cucumber King sitting on their kitchen table. Wearing a golden crown, white cotton gloves and red varnish on his toenails, King Kumi-Ori the Two has been evicted from his kingdom by his subjects' coup d'état, and throws himself on the mercy of the Hogelmanns. With his overbearing manner and sly habits he quickly makes himself unpopular - except with Dad, whose reactionary instincts are roused by the royal presence. Meanwhile young Wolfie and his sister Martina make friends with the King's oppressed ex-subjects - and the scene is set for conflict.

Set in Austria, this highly original and very funny story will enthrall all its readers.
