This is one of several nonfictions I bought when I wasn't registering them immediately in case I wanted to save them on my unregistered keeper shelves after reading. Since then I've drastically cut my permanent collection and send most of my books travelling. I'm registering this one now in readiness . . . . Apparently I found it in The Children's Society charity shop in Dawlish on our Devon holiday in June 2015!

Amazon Editorial Review: "King George III believed that his six daughters were perfectly content with a life of charitable works and lady-like accomplishments at Windsor. But secretly, as Flora Fraser's absorbing narrative of royal repression and sexual licence shows, the sisters enjoyed startling freedom. Scandal and intrigue often erupted within the castle walls as the sisters forged lives torn between love for an ailing father and longing for independence. With unparalleled access to Royal and private family papers, Flora Fraser turns the historical searchlight on George III and his daughters. Writing with wit, zest and sympathy, she creates an extraordinary historical saga and confirms her place among our finest biographers."

Delivers what the title promises: 91 years of history from the birth of King George III's eldest daughter in 1766 to the death of the last surviving one in 1857. I found it an interesting and entertaining account of life in a very different time from the 21st century!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I left this in Tholthorpe while touring and swapping books in a few red telephone box book exchanges on this sunny Sunday afternoon!

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 nearly twelve million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
