The Gods Themselves

From the cover:
"In the twenty-second century Earth obtains limitless, free energy from a source science little understands: an exchange between Earth and a parallel universe, using a process devised by the aliens. But even free energy has a price. The transference process itself will eventually lead to the destruction of Earth's Sun - and of the Earth itself.
Only a few know the terrifying truth - an outcast Earth scientiest, a rebellious alien inhabitant of a dying planet, a lunar-born intuitionist who senses the imminent annihilation of the Sun. They know the truth - but who will listen? They have forseen the cost of abundant energy - but who will belive? These few beings, human and alien, hold the key to the Earth's survival."

Es zählt außerdem für efells Lesechallenge 2017 in der Kategorie Reise nach Osten
A book about Global Warming, written before anybody knew about Global Warning. For this reason alone it is worth reading.
The first part with Lamont trying to convinceanybody of the dangers of the Electron Pump I foud really great. The second part, set in the parallel universe, in the beginning seemed pretty strange for me, but by and by I got used to it and liked it more and more. Only the third part was not so much of my taste and the happy end came to sudden.
