Bibi Besch is a great actress, but she shouldn't really be doing Klingon voices. She does a great Uhura, however, and her Scotty's not too bad. I suppose that's one of the drawbacks to "reading" an audiobook about Television characters.

Structured like the TV show with an A track plot and a B track plot, this could have very easily been an episode constructed around the question of WHY DAVID, KIRK'S SON, HATES/HATED STAR FLEET.

Released on Friday, April 02, 2004 at Audio Bookbox in Bookbox, postal release USA.

Came in the book box from luv2sewtjr. I was thinking of starting my own bookbox of audios when luv2sewtjr offered hers. So, this entry will be repeated a few times tonight in audiobooks... my work drive time is pretty much spoken for until August it looks like! :-)...

No, no... that's wrong... that's all wrong!

This book is going into Luv2sewJr's audiobookbox.

Interesting story, but I agree that Bibi Besch doesn't do Klingon voices very well.

Will put up for trade at www.thecheshirekat.com

Star Trek fan here, so of course I liked it. I agree that the voices are "strange" when compared to the television show, but worth listening to!

Sending back to Carlissa as requested through TheCheshireKat.com .

Journal Entry 11 by KateKintail from Burke, Virginia USA on Friday, March 30, 2007
Took out of the audio bookbox yesterday. Started listening to it in the car today. I agree about the voices... and the sound effects are a little distracting while driving. But otherwise I'm enjoying it a whole lot already.

Thanks carlissa!

I finished this book today. I really liked the episodic feel to the story and there were equal amounts of action and cleverness. I found the narrator strange and amusing, but got used to her voices for the various characters. The inclusion of David was also a very interesting addition to the fandom/universe.

Short but enjoyable!

The tape gave me trouble once (they're just well-loved) so one must be careful with them. And the box needed some minor repair work, but is fine now.

OK I never was what you could call a trekkie, but enjoyed the TV series. After listeninbg to a few of the audiobooks, I find them somewhat interesting but not that great.

I do however like the sound effects in stereo separation scattered throughout...

will release soon.....

I enjoyed this Star Trek novel. Two stories woven together.
I agree with one of the previous readers that the inclusion of David in the story was interesting.
I didn't mind the voice except that sometimes it took me a couple of seconds to figure out which of the people in the story was speaking.

I did some more repair work on the box with some hopefully stronger tape.
The tapes were running fine with no problems at all.

This book will go into iwillrejoice's Audiobook VBB in the next round.
