Lisa tells about the experiences of a young Jewish Dane who is part of the resistance movement in occupied Denmark. This book is a work of historical fiction aimed at young people.
I first read this shortly after reading the book's sequel, Jesper, and found them both to be good reads. I quite enjoyed this author's books while growing up.
As my own way of celebrating Canada's sesquicentennial this year, I have decided to dedicate my 2017 bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories/literature. This book is not about a Canadian nor is it set in Canada, but it was written by Canadian author Carol Matas. I plan to include it in my releases this year.

Today my husband and I attended an event at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum in Vandorf, at which we got to learn a bit about Indigenous Culture. It was interesting and we had a good time. Anyway, we parked Vandorf Park and walked through the park and across the little footbridge to the museum. On the way, I left this book sitting on a picnic table in a protective bag. It was in the swings area-- across the path from the regular swings, with the baby swings not much farther down the trail.
If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!
This book was released as part of the 2017 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge! The hamlet of Vandorf was Town #11 for me!

Found the book on a picnic table in the Vandorf park yesterday May 23/17. Thank you Jessica. I am halfway through it and really enjoying it.
I found this book in Whitby, Ontario. It was really exciting to find this book left on a park bench following a music in the park event. I am still reading the book but look forward to following the travels of this book! What a great idea!
