I found this slightly-battered softcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It's a cyberpunk novel about virtual reality crossing over with real life: a famous musician wants to marry a virtual-reality idol singer...

Complicating things: a 14-year-old girl from one of the musician's US fan clubs travels to Japan to try and confirm or deny this (to the fans) very disturbing rumor. And an investigator for a big celebrity-scandal-sheet publication is also on the trail, though he's torn between fulfilling another assignment and getting out of the increasingly-dirty business.

And then there are the Russian mobsters who seem to be after something more specific than a rumor. And the virtual-reality personality herself, who has her own agenda...

Quite an interesting and entertaining book!

I left this book in the Little Free Library in front of the bike shop on South Rd. at around 2 or so. (The LFL's not readily accessible due to all the deep snow, but hopefully someone will enjoy browsing there once it thaws!)
