I read this on a recommendation and I couldn't put it down. It's absolutely fantastic. Definitely one of those books that everybody should read.

One paragraph on the back of the book reads "The Alchemist is a transforming novel about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life's path and above all following our dreams"

I've offered this book up as a bookring - the more bc'ers that join in the better :-)

Hello all, just wanted to update, this book was sent out a while ago, I can't actually remember the date, but it should (hopefully!) have arrived. Not quite sure what to say about the book, to me it seemed a little overly preachy, similar to the Celestine Prophecies that was big a while back, but there were definitely some good little gems of sentences in there. Will check with stardusted to see if it has arrived yet.

received this in the mail awhile ago, am afraid I overlooked it for quite some time...I'm terribly sorry for the delay. I won't hold it up any longer though, and so I've PM'd the next person and am awaiting their address to ship it out. Thank you Cable, for sharing the book

Today was a clammy, rather miserable day. How exciting to liven it up by coming home to a book in the mailbox! My last final is tomorrow, so I should be able to start it right after that.

While there are lots of books that talk about finding your way, fulfilling your dreams, living your destiny, this classic Coelho is always a treat. I've read it several times, and enjoy it immensely each read. If you're a Coelho fan, as am I, I also recommend Eleven Minutes (Once Minutos).

Sending on to Amusedbythis in Chicago. I'm sure I've exchanged books with this crosser in the past, but always best to check! :)

Enjoy.

Received message from Amusedbythis. Apparently she's already found another copy of the book and has asked to be skipped. I'll wait for directions from the organizer or release in the wild if no response.

An evocative little book about the importance of "following your bliss." Although I didn't always find the style compelling, I value the author's message. Some wise nuggets of truth in here made me think about listening to my own heart and better observing those who cross my path.

I've found a new reader for this book, and it will soon be traveling to Arizona. Thanks for the chance to read it!
