This is a 2012 US World Book Night edition (trade-size paperback).
In 1907 Wisconsin, Ralph Truitt advertises for "a reliable wife". He selects Catherine Land, who writes that she is "a simple honest woman". The reader will find that she has misrepresented herself and has her own agenda. But then, so does Ralph.
I did not find this to be a particularly satisfying read. I stuck with it mainly to discover why it had been a WBN selection.
