I got this good-condition paperback at a local Savers thrift shop, for another release copy.
This "weird West" anthology includes a nice mix of humor, horror, and general weirdness, from the barbecue-themed deal-with-the-devil plot of "The Temptation of Eustace Prudence McAllen" to the zombie-killing gunslinger of "Lowstone". "Surveyor of Mars" sets a typical Western on the dusty surface of the Red Planet. "Coyote, Spider, Bat" pits the mythical Coyote and Spider against a dangerous foe. "The Clockwork Cowboy" incorporates the difficulties of maintaining intricate machinery-bodies in the dust and heat of the West - not to mention in the face of some dastardly villains. (This one was among my favorite stories in the book.)
There's also a ghost-ridden doctor, a steampunk-ish city-in-the-sky, a train infested with a deadly black mold (another favorite of mine), and a wry werewolf tale with a lovely twist.
[See the TV Tropes page on "weird west" in different media.]
