I got this fair-condition ex-library softcover during a recent binge at Better World Books. It's set in a future where humankind is space-faring at will - but with some catches: those who spend time in hypersleep begin to have strange dreams, dreams that repeat the more often they make the jumps. And some people don't come out of hypersleep sane... The novel introduces one man who's the sole survivor of his ship. Under a cloud of suspicion, he's encouraged to join a special crew that's in search of a famed ship that may be derelict - in the middle of a cloud of black holes. Can the ship be retrieved? What's the meaning of those dreams - and will any of the characters survive them?

Some nice twists here, with a mix of practical space-exploration, character interactions, and the growing dread of the meaning behind the dreams. Just who or what inhabits hyperspace?

I left this book on a bench in the park at around 4 on this very warm day. Hope the finder enjoys it!
