I haven't read this book. My boyfriend picked it up a few years ago at a book swapping party and now it's ready to go out into the world again.

A celebration of 20 years of independent journalism. This book contains a selection of articles from the Independent written 1996-2006.

From the back cover:

The second volume of our two-part anthology celebrates this anniversary with contributions from, among others, Bill Bryson, Robert Chalmers, Tim Dowling, Robert Fisk, Howard Jacobson, Ian Jack, Fergal Keane, Suzanne Moore, Maggie O'Farrell, Deborah Orr, Anthony Quinn, Deborah Ross, Will Self, Zadie Smith, Hunter S Thompson, Sue Townsend and John Walsh.
