5 stars: Didn't particularly like or dislike it; mixed or no real interest

From the back cover: Why are our fingers different lengths and what purpose do earlobes, tonsils, and appendixes serve? Why are peanuts listed as an ingredient in plain M & Ms? When you wear a girdle, where does the fat go? ... with over a million copies in print, David Feldman's imponderables series has become the unchallenged source of answers to civilizations most perplexing questions. In this entertaining and wide ranging tour through imponderability, Feldman illuminates the darkest mysteries known to mankind, enigmas as disconcerting as how they kept beer cold in the old west, what happened to the Q and Z on telephone buttons, and the finer points of the only two sure things in life, death and taxes. It doesn't get any better than this.

Well, that review above was hyperbole. Mildly interesting, I started by reading this and ended up skimming. I'd say a third of the items within are very dated (this was published in 1991; I am typing this Jan 2017) a third I knew and a third I didn't know.
