Vielschichtig und spannend. Hat mir gut gefallen, auch wenn ich mehr Wörter nachschlagen musste als sonst bei englischen Büchern.

Having problems with the BC site: finding the book, selecting the city, etc.

At the Bookcrossing Convention table: 'An Ian Rankin!'-GRAB! I don't consider myself an crime story reader, more like science-fiction/fantasy. But since I started with bookcrossing I veer into other styles and autors. Read an Ian Rankin before and liked it.

Started reading this one in Bordeaux and have not yet finished it. The setup sounds familliar, but I'm not sure if I've read this one before. I'll see.

I've finished and left the book at the Youth Hostel in Bingen.
Towards the end of the book there was a stretch I've found lengthy, but otherwise it was ok.
There are some more Ian Rankin's on my shelf waiting to be read.

I picked this up at Nahetal Youth Hostel in Bingen, Germany last weekend - they keep a small library shelf with all kinds of books on the 2nd floor, to the left side of the registration desk.

It's been a while since I read a book by Rankin, but I generally do like his style. From what I can tell after reading some 30 pages, this one will not disappoint.

Update:

Loved the book; especially the in-depth characterisation of Rebus. I'll be passing this book on to my SO who'll release it in a suitable place in Ingolstadt after she's read it.

Update 2:

My SO passed the book along to a friend who'll release it in Lübeck.
