Killer Chef (BookShots)

A little better than the other bookshots that I have read, still lacking in comparison to JP's regular reads.
The following review is from Amazon:
Caleb Rooney is one of the hardest working men in New Orleans. Running a food truck with his ex wife is a lot already, but he is already one of the leading detectives for the city. When couples start dropping of food poisoning at premier restaurants, it's up to "Killer Chef" Rooney to find the culprit before everyone has to close up shop.
Alright, full honesty. The premise was interesting- they always are with these bookshots. The execution suffered a bit for me, which sadly they tend to with these bookshots. Not always- when they are great they are really great.... I just couldn't like these characters. The women seemed very one dimensional. Rooney himself was.... not the hero I wanted. He's a chef, listening to the food stuff was interesting. He's a detective... though mostly everyone else seemed to be finding everything or it was handed to him. And he's a womanizer. Seriously, can he not see one woman without being attracted to her? It detracted from what could have been a more intense and interesting story. In the end I was just not satisfied.
On the adult content scale, there is language, sexual innuendo, murder and mayhem. I give it a five.
