I saw the film a couple of years ago and don't remember Julie Andrews' grandmother being quite as bad as she is in the book. Nonetheless, this was perfect Saturday afternoon, forget-about-the-world reading and another one down in the BBC's Big Read 200.

I picked this up from perfect-circle at the Newcastle meet on Thursday as part of my Big Read Top 100.
I really enjoyed this - a nice simple straightforward fun read - just what a needed after exams! :) I will pass it on to my mum (katweeble) as it is on her wishlist.

Found that I already had a copy when it arrived - I keep doing this - I will take it with me to the Unconvention in Birmingham tomorrow.
