I found this hardcover on the book-swap shelf in the Tyngsboro MA post office. It's an interesting mix of memoir and detective-story-fanboy, with touches of literary-history - all assembled in a charming and thought-provoking manner. There's also a hint of ghostliness, as the author walks the same streets he walked as an imaginative young boy, and can almost sense his own youthful presence; I've mused on similar things myself, entranced by the idea of so many different versions of me passing through the same physical space but at widely separated points in time...
The story's often quite amusing, whether it's the author waxing snarky now or recalling goofy tidbits from childhood. Good read!
