Great novel! When I heard it has been described as a "cozy catastrophe story" I was intrigued. And the term fits! It sometimes seemd a bit quaint, but it has been written in the 50s - and it's clearly a product of the post-war era. Still it doesn't seem dated. I found the discussions about the biological versus the political versus the moral point of view quite interesting and thought-provoking.
BTW, the auther's full name is John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris!
