This is a slim little book, more of a novella. The story centers around a couple who have a terrible marriage. Whose fault is it? The woman is a great nag but the husband is a selfish unlikable blob who does very little. Well, apparently, his father was just as bad, as we get a glimpse of the merry widow, the unlikable blob's mother who is thrilled to be able to enjoy life after a miserable life with blob senior. Unfortunately, there is a young girl who has the unlikable blob for a father and the complaining nag for a mother. The complaining nag wants to go out and meet other men. Do you blame her? However, she basically neglects her daughter. The title, Ripples, refers to the way how we live affects others, particularly if we get married and have children. Blob Senior has an unlikable Blob Junior. The neglectful mother raises a rather nice young girl who has no moral training or guidance. This book is enough to put one off marriage or at least, to consider carefully who one marries.

This book was left on a shelf containing some books in the lobby by the entrance to the dining room.
